Sometimes you meet people who just seem to get it. And when I say it, I don’t really know that I can define what it is, but it’s a feeling, a vocational entanglement to this life of service that can’t be explained. My one-month attachment at Lumbini Medical college in Nepal was an exercise in humility in the presence of the real heroes who help their people when so many others flee in search of more prosperous pastures. They are my inspiration. I can only hope to pass their stories along through these journals.
